Deferral of VAT payments (Covid-19)

Updated: Oct 10, 2020

HMRC's VAT payments deferral scheme ended on 30 June 2020.

In September 2020, the Chancellor announced that businesses who deferred VAT under the deferral scheme from 20 March to 30 June 2020 will now have the ability to pay in smaller payments over a longer period.

The scheme will need to be opted in to, and where you do, your VAT liabilities due between 20 March and 30 June 2020 will not need to be paid in full until the end of March 2022.
